Why Internet based application?

• Open 24/7/365
• No sending files that contain survey data. All
  submitting data and reports are available online.
• Access through any browser with Internet access.
  No need to just use your computer at work.
• No client installations or re-installations
  because of hardware changes on the client side.
  Saving money and time supporting the system.
• Corrections and modifications can be made
  remotely and applied to the site faster.
• Keeping current. Most new application are being
  developed as web based programs.

Program Functionality

• Database integration. All pages of the site are
  generated dynamically from content stored in the
  database.
• Secure Login using User Name and Password. This
  means only pre-registered CISA members have
  access to the site.
• Maintainable user profiles. These profiles store
  contact information as well as reporting
  categories associated with the user.
• Logic to control member access and report
  creation for non submitting members.

• Ability to maintain schedules for submitting
  data. These schedules allow for control over when
  surveys are permitted and when reports are
  available.
• Survey screens that dynamically change depending
  on the users profile.

• Administration section allows for CISA to control

  to the process.

Technologies Used To Build Site

• The backend database used is Microsoft SQL Server
  2000. Microsoft most robust database. Design for
  scalability and Internet applications.
• Microsoft .NET framework. Most current platform
  available from Microsoft
• Code written using ASP.NET and Visual Basic .NET
• Component based design. Allows for easier
  maintainability and future modifications.

Time Line

• Development has already started.
• Will be complete and ready for beta testing by
  Beginning of September
• Complete testing by Middle of September
• Ready to launch site by third week in September

Cost Saving

• The elimination of sending emails reduces the
  labor and costs associated with this process.
• The cost of paying someone to processes the data,
  as the web site will do it automatically.
• The cost of generating hard copies of reports.
  These would be viewed on-line and only printed by
  the member if needed.

Maintenance

• The site will require little or no maintenance.
  Some support for issues pertaining to hosting, or
  member training, but this should be minimal.
• The only time a cost should be incurred for the
  site will be when enhancements are made to the
  application.
• Enhancements would always be specified and
  approved by CISA before any work is performed.
