• History of NDO

NDO established in 1998 to foster indigenous mine
action capacities and achieved a mixed level of
success in its early years
INTRODUCTION
Since 2002, work with UNDP, UNMAS, UNICEF,
International NGOs and Lebanese civil society has
strengthened the capacity of the National
Authority.
HISTORY
INSTITUTION
Increased Government ownership of mine action,
the 2006 conflict, clearances scheduled for 2007
and exit of UNMAS accelerated the last stage of
development of the NDO
