Test Overview
  • History of Tech is 70 pts and News is 40 pts
  • Both sections have T/F questions. They arent
    tricky, just make sure you know information and
    read carefully. Only 1 word may be changed that
    changes the whole meaning of the statement.
  • Write in complete sentences as often as you can
    on the short answer. Commas, periods, capital
    letters, etc. This is still an English class, and
    fragmented sentences will cost you in overall
    points. EXPLAIN YOURSELF AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

  • Television Transmission steps (9 pts)
  • Order of oldest to newest implemented inventions
    (16 pts)
  • 5 of the 7 Conglomerates (5 pts)
  • TIP Use a pneumonic device to help you remember.

  • 10 T/F questions (10 pts) mostly deal with
    guides, stats, and some smaller notes from class.
    Read questions carefully.
  • 11 short answer (35 pts)see earlier slide about
    complete sentence responses.
  • Know steps and be able to explain the Teen Media
    Cycledont just draw the chart! Explain it in
    complete sentences.
  • Explain one key concept from Young and Wired
    articlewe didnt talk about the article in
    class. It was on the guide for p. 18.

  • Review cool hunting information, know mook,
    midriff, and remember theres a difference
    between the center is the new edge and the
    Media Cycle. Dont get them confused.
  • Review the notes, guides, highlights, and email
    me with questions or see before school prior to
    the test.

News Test40 pts
  • 10 T/F questions worth 20 pts (2 pts per
    question)same rules as before
  • 3 short answer questionsanswer in complete
    sentences. Review the 8 biases and know two of
    them for sure.

Complete Response
  • Here are two of your longer essay type questions.
    These should be fully developed, so Im giving
    them to you before hand.
  • In the article Hour Two Live at Five, discuss
    and explain one key element from the article and
    tie it into the local news assignment with an
    example.
  • Based on the articles read, discussions in class,
    and news you watched, what power do you think the
    news media really has? Use at least 2 examples to
    support your opinion.
