Introduction

• Gobi2 Rush ordering _at_ NCSU
• Book-on-Demand using Gobi2

Gobi Accounts

• NCSU has several ordering sub-accounts with EOCRs
  that load into Sirsi ILS and a bypass account for
  firm orders w/out EOCRs
• Created 2 Rush2 accounts, one w/EOCRs and one
  w/out
• Have 115 subject codes and added 1 more for books
  on demand

Rush Processing

• Pre-order search in catalog
• Find and select title in Gobi2
• Choose Gobi Express and Rush2 ordering
• Fill-out information or use template
  (sub-account,
• fund code, holding code, selector, notes, etc.)
• Confirm title
• Choose shipping method drop address
• Accept terms place order
• Receive and save confirmation email
• EOCR is loaded into system following morning
• other firm orders

• Pilot project by ILL/Document Delivery and
  Collection Management for Fall 2004
• As group was developing a workflow with
  Acquisitions, Gobi Rush2 was introduced
• Decided to take advantage of EOCR, email
  confirmation, and invoicing of Rush2

1. Monographs 2. Less than 2 years old 3. Not
available in TRLN 4. Not a 2nd copy 5.
Nonfiction 6. Not a textbook 7. Not in call
number ranges TT,TX,RC,M 8. Not requested by
library staff 9. Book over 50 pages 10. Book over
4 inches in height 11. Cost less than 200

BOD Processing

• ILL request matches the BOD criteria
• ILL staff checks availability in Gobi2
• If available for Rush service, ILL orders in
  Gobi2 with special fund code and other info
• EOCRs are loaded into the system the next morning
• Acquisitions staff place patron hold on item when
  after the record is loaded

Status Report

• Since October, only 12 titles have been ordered
  through the BOD process
• We are currently reviewing the criteria criteria
• Include items owned by TRLN schools but not
  available
• Include items from 2002 or older
