Document Status
  • Document is pretty stable now and close to final
    document candidate.
  • WGLC targeted for end of November.
  • Progress since last meeting
  • Documented Bypass feature
  • Added support for generating responses to
    requests
  • Documented HTTP message parts handling, including
    negotiation and data transfer
  • Documented Content and Transfer encoding handling
  • Documented handling of computable,
    content-dependent headers such as Content-Length.

3
Open Issues
  • Are there any HTTP-specific security
considerations we need to address explicitly?
  • HTTP-Expert input/review would be helpful.
  • How to avoid blocking in case of concurrent
    request/response when
  • HTTP client is sending a (huge) request, while
the HTTP server is already responding to it, and
  • Callout server needs the HTTP request body to
    adapt the HTTP response?
  • Should we define a mechanism that allows the
callout server to skip a huge request body when
    in response mode?
  • How do we handle HTTP specifics such as 100
    Continue and 206 Partial Content?
  • Check current document and mailing list for
details and post to the mailing list!
  • Goal is to resolve remaining issues by end of
    November.
