Keeping Up to Date
If you know the publishers of the journals you
use most, go to the publishers websites to see
what they offer check the library catalogue
or ask library staff if you want any advice
about this. Personal registration with a
site is often necessary for ToC alerts, etc, even
when a Library subscription provides full-text
access. Registration is usually free and also
possible for sites to which the Library does not
subscribe.

  • 16,000 conference proceedings
  • gt20 million journal and conference records,
  • 1993 onwards
  • updated daily
  • Can be used as a searchable database to find
    articles written on specific topics or by
    particular authors

To create an alert you need to login to the ZETOC
Alert section with your Athens username/password.

Inspec search alerts saved histories
The APS and AIP both advertise a subject alert
service from the Scitation website. These alerts
are powered by the Inspec database and require
payment.
  • However, the Library already subscribes to the
    full Inspec database
  • - links from the database pages and Guide to
    Resources in Physics pages on the Library
    website
  • In Inspecs Search History you can
  • select searches for which you would like weekly
    emails containing newly added records matching
    your search
  • save a search strategy so on future visits you do
    not have to re-enter search terms

Select these facilities and you will be prompted
to create a free personal registration account or
log into one if you havent already.

Web of Science Saved Histories
Click on the COMBINE SEARCHES button to get to
the area from which you can save your search
strategy
Click on the SAVE HISTORY button to save a search
strategy on a local drive
Click on the OPEN HISTORY button to load a saved
search strategy.
Or, select the OPEN HISTORES option from WoS
opening menu Full Search/Date Database Limits
