Purpose
  • The purpose of the CPP is threefold
  • Protect cadets minors in our care
  • Protect senior members and older cadet NCOs and
    officers
  • Protect CAP, Inc.

Components
  • Background Screening
  • All Senior Members
  • All Cadet Sponsor Members (CSM)
  • Report abuse to
  • Trusted Senior Member or adult
  • Squadron Commander
  • Next higher commander
  • Nation Headquarters Corporate Legal Counsel

CAP Policy
  • Commanders should
  • Carefully select senior members in the squadron
  • Encourage members to report any abuse
  • When abuse is suspected
  • Suspend the member from working with cadets
  • Immediately notify HQ
  • Take other appropriate actions
  • Conduct periodic orientation of senior members
  • Insure cadets are informed of policies

  • Insure at least two senior members or CSM are
    present at all activities
  • Particularly overnight activities
  • There are reasonable exceptions
