    childs health, welfare or safety.or the

  • an act or failure to act, or the cumulative
    effects of a pattern of conduct, behavior, or
    inaction, that evidences a serious disregard of
    consequences of such magnitude as to constitute a
    clear and present danger to a childs health,
    welfare or safety..
  • Evidence of substance abuse to be given great
    weight when considering clear and present
    danger to a child

Mission Statement for Region IV
  • Child/youth witnessing of domestic violence shall
    not be considered child maltreatment per se
  • It is generally in the childs best interest to
    remain in the care of the non-offending parent
  • Increasing the safety, autonomy, and wellbeing of
    the adult DV survivor leads to safer outcomes for
    the child
