    Integrated Services in Schools

    provision and programming to

MSPP data?

  • Are services reaching the students that need them

  • Are offered activities of high quality?
  • Are students receiving multiple services?
  • Are students receiving needed services?

NMISSI MSPP what will it require?
  • Three interrelated data collection efforts will
    comprise NMISSI MSPP
  • An ongoing program and participant information
    data collection system
  • A student survey
  • Assessment of activity quality

Component 1 program and participant data
collection system
  • Real time database
  • Individual level data linked by student
  • Participation data will
  • Capture individual level program attendance or
    service provision
  • Document type of activity or service (including
    outreach) offered
  • Capture days of programming offered
  • Participant profiles will include
  • Demographic information about participant (age,
    race, gender, free lunch, etc)
  • Basic educational background of target student as
    well as insurance coverage

Online data collection system
  • Sites will be able to
  • Enter site data online using Social Solutionss
    ETO software
  • Import and export data to reduce duplication of
    data entry
  • Print summary reports
  • Ensure confidentiality of entered data with
    assigned usernames and passwords
  • Data collection system will be linked to an
    upcoming ISS website that will provide useful
    tools and information to sites as well as general
    public

Component 2 student survey
  • Student survey will be administered annually or
    bi-annually.
  • Can be used to assess need and document
    characteristics of students more generally.
  • Will include questions like..
  • Heath profile (e.g., physical activity)
  • Academic efficacy
  • School belonging
  • Level of relationships with supportive adults
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities

Component 3 activity quality assessment
  • Not for all services/components
  • Twice a year
  • Based on program observation
  • Will provide information on program strengths and
    weaknesses
  • Will help with program improvement
