  • Attendance and Punctuality
  • Class attendance is an indicator of commitment
    and also demonstrates the respect for the
    Teacher.
  • Class timings are to be strictly adhered to and
    an endeavour is to be made to be present in the
    class 5 minutes prior to the commencement of the
    Lecture.
  • Late arrivals are a major distraction for the
    learning process and hence highly discouraged and
    shall be penalized.
  • Nobody is allowed to leave the class during the
    Lecture and all requirements (e.g. Namaz, Drinks
    or Restroom) are to met before the Class or
    during the Lecture Breaks.

  • Dress Code
  • All students are to be decently dressed.
  • No obscene dress, excessive makeup or acts
    contrary to our social and moral values shall be
    acceptable and violators shall be shunted out of
    the class.
  • Students are not to be shabbily dressed or put on
    open slippers, which is a derogatory act for any
    Institution of Higher Learning.
  • Students are to be formally dressed up (ties and
    jacket for the male students) for any special
    occasion e.g. Guest Lectures, Conferences,
    Seminars or Presentations.

  • Class Discipline
  • The importance of respect for the teacher can not
    be overemphasized. Students are to give due
    respect to all Faculty members.
  • In case of any controversy or conflict of opinion
    the students are to avoid any kind of behaviour
    that can be termed as disrespectful conduct. The
    matter can be taken up with the Course
    Co-ordinator after the class.
  • The students are to avoid unnecessary chatting or
    any other act that may disturb the lecture.
  • Students are expected to come prepared for the
    lecture and should avoid unnecessary debates
    detrimental to the learning atmosphere.

  • Submission of Assignments and other Course
    Requirements
  • All assignments or any other course requirements
    assigned by the Teacher are to be submitted in
    time. No late submissions will be acceptable. In
    case of any unavoidable delay the Teacher has to
    be informed well in advance, however the decision
    of the Teacher will be final in the outcome and
    deduction of marks are to be expected even in
    case of acceptance.
  • Submission of course requirements are to be made
    keeping in mind the requirements of the Corporate
    world for which the students are being prepared.

  • Quizzes Examination
  • The students should come well equipped for any
    Quiz or Examination to avoid borrowing stationary
    and calculators etc, which will be strictly
    discouraged.
  • Students are expected to be in the designated
    examination area 10 minutes before the start
    time. They are to occupy seats as directed by the
    invigilation team.
  • Using unfair means is not only unethical but also
    a major offence in the academic world which is
    liable for strict disciplinary action.
  • Late arrivals are to be discouraged and no extra
    time will be given in case they are permitted to
    take the exam.

  • Use of Mobile
  • Mobiles are NOT permitted in the examination
    halls.
  • Mobiles are discouraged during the class and in
    case of possession in the class they to be kept
    SWITCHED OFF.
  • Penalties (Dismissal from class) shall be given
    in case of Mobile Bell disrupts any Lecture.
  • Use of mobile in any method (SMS), as a watch or
    calculation is also discouraged.

  • Smoking
  • Smoking being injurious to health and discouraged
    and condemned by the societal norms is prohibited
    in the Campus. Any violations are liable to a
    fine of Rs. 500 (the reporter of the violation
    can be any faculty member or staff of SZABIST).
  • Similarly Pan and other such intoxicants are
    completely prohibited.

  • General Behaviour
  • Students are to check the Bulletin Boards,
    SZABIST website and ZABDESK announcements
    regularly.
  • No eating and drinking is permitted in the
    library, classrooms, computer laboratories and
    study areas.
  • Litter is to be properly disposed off in the bins
    provided.
  • Students are to park their vehicles in the
    designated area.
  • Students are not expected to disfigure any wall
    or furniture which is a serious disciplinary act
    subject to fine.
  • The students are not to create noise, use foul
    language or any undesirable activity while in the
    campus.
  • Students are not allowed on campus after 10 pm.

Penalties
  • Disciplinary Committee oversees any untoward
    incidents and the penalties can include
  • Warning letter to student
  • Letter of apology by the student
  • Call parents if severe violation committed by
    the student
  • Suspend for a week
  • Expulsion from the Institute
  • Smoking Fine of Rs. 500
