Read-Aloud..(cont.)
  • Definition of Group
  • Two or three students who receive exactly the
same accommodation at exactly the same time.
Students must have the same form.
  • What a group is NOT
  • Not a number of students in a particular room who
are taking different forms and who are raising
their hands at random with questions about
    pronunciation of a word.

5
Read-Aloud(cont.)
  • The Reading Assessment
  • Absolutely nothing from a reading passage may be
read to a student, including single words. If an
IEP says a student may have the passage read, the
    student counts as not tested.
  • Reading questions and answer choices is permitted
if done by a trained human reader.

  • Read-Aloud Guidelines Document
  • Read-Aloud Power Point

7
Read-Aloud.(cont.)
  • Allowable Practices
  • Occasionally pronouncing a single word, a single
distracter, a single stem, or a single question
if not in the reading passage.
  • Requires no special documentation nor special
    coding of the answer sheet.
  • Teacher should use professional discretion
regarding the number of times a student may
    request assistance.
