What are glasses for?

• The glasses are for being able to see clearer and
  read better, and magnify how you see thing.

How it started.

• About 1000 A.D, monks made a reading stone.
  Reading stone is made out of natural polished
  glass.
• But in 4 A.D a roman used a globe of glass to see
  better.
• In 60 A.D it is said a roman used emerald lenses.

Roger Bacon and Salvino DArmate of Pisa

• Roger bacon invented glasses in 1268.
• Salvino DArmate is often credited, but there is
  no proof. 1284.
• First mention of glasses were in 1289 by a Popozo
  family member.

The Improvement.

• Over the years glasses changed smaller.
• They are more fit for the specific person.
• And the intensity of the glass magnification can
  be changed.
• All these improvement helps a range of people
  instead of just one group.

Time line of eyeglasses.

• 1268- Roger Bacon made Glasses.
• 1284- an Italian takes part of the credit.
• 1300- The first time glasses were used.
• 1728- Edward Scarlett advertises glasses.

• 1760- Benjamin Franklin gets the idea of
  bifocals.
• 1828- McAllisters improves the eyeglasses.
• 1894- first school for optics is open.
