Measures of Association

• Kendalls tau-b
• Use if table is square (e.g. 2x2 or 5x5), both
  variables have same number of values,
• Ordinal Level IV and DV
• Directional Measures
• Plus () sign positive relationship, increase
  in IV Increase in DV
• Negative (-) sign negative relationship,
  increase in IV decrease in DV
• Proportional Reduction In Error Measure
• Extent to which values of IV predict values of
  DV.
• Close to 0 (zero) little predictive value,
• close to poles 1 or -1, IV has a lot of
  predictive value
