TATC Founding History
  • January, 1982 - Taiwan CMA cooperated with the
    CMA to prepare a foundation for the college.
  • July, 1985 - the Boards of Trustees adopted the
    vision Stewardship in 2 Timothy 215.
  • 1987 - Bachelor of Theology was officially
    launched as the major academic program.
  • November, 1988 -Joined ?????????(TATS)
  • October, 1998 Added the Post Bachelor Study
    Dept. and three degrees in Master Ministry,
    Diploma in Theology, Diploma in Christian
    Studies?

Vision
  • To complement the CMAs global vision by
    providing theological studies that fit the
    academic needs, as well as regional missionary
    needs, of the Greater China area.
  • To serve as the key institution in Taiwan to
    fulfill the CMAs academic and missionary
    initiatives, through publications, lectures,
    workshops etc. for the universal Christian
    church.
  • Synergy with overseas CMA churches in training
    and service for specialized missionary
    ministries, such as a Muslim Missionary Center.

Strategies
  • Integration of both biblical and theological
    curriculums, also through intercultural studies
    and faculties.
  • Instill practical methodology in preaching,
    internships, counseling, Christian formation and
    discipleship, worship and church administrative
    training for the strengthening of the students
    calling and ministry competence.

Near-term Goal (1-2 years)
  • To find a suitable location.
  • Strengthen the faculty.
  • To enrich the library collection.
  • To enhance church and school relations.
  • Depend on God in fund raising.
  • Deepen the proper use and review of the budget
    and expense.

Location
  • To locate a suitable building for teaching and
    learning in order to cement the students faith,
    learning and spiritual transformation.

Strengthen the faculty
  • Recruit one resident faculty for the beginning of
    2006 and two for the fourth quarter of 2006.
  • Strengthen the contributing faculty.

Enrich the library collection
  • Increase the 2005 total budget by NT150,000 to
    achieve the following
  • By the end of 2006, the collection will be
    increased from 5,000 to 6,000 volumes.
  • To subscribe to ten Chinese/English journals in
    theological studies.
  • A part-time librarian will head and maintain this
    project.

Church relations
  • Continuing education programs allow pastors in
    ministry to have
  • Curriculum advisory, custom-made lesson plan
  • Mentoring and lecturing to compete in the rapidly
    changing world and be able to stay current in
    his/her ministry skills.
  • Extended education programs provide for practical
    theological education within the local church
    context for believers to assist and serve the
    local faith-community.
  • Collaborate with non-denominational churches to
    train and prepare the students to serve as
    socially relevant professionals.

  • through TATC Vision Day at all 26 CMA churches
    in Taiwan, expected to see 20 increased.

Long-term Goal(10-15 years)
  • Inter-denominational collaboration
  • By sharing the same vision, TATC can collaborate
    with different denominational churches in
    synergizing the teaching resources and missionary
    enterprises to Mainland China.
  • Nourishing ministry professions
  • By balancing theological education and achieving
    TATCs long term commitment to producing
    missionaries, plan to move from Taipei metro
    area.
  • Budgeting
  • Increase expenses annually based on the strategic
    development of TATC
  • Plus to enhance the faculty is a healthy
    long-term goal, the expense ratio of
    administrative use faulty will be switched to
    64, instead of 46

  • However, God will not only be satisfied with it.
    He wants us to have the participant period,
    depending upon his grace entirely.
  • Its time to work with God to participate in His
    purpose to see TATC serving His Kingdom.
