- "(a) The legislative body of each municipality
may appropriate funds for the financial aid of
any nonprofit charitable organization - ...a nonprofit charitable organization is one in

and which provides year-round services benefiting
the general welfare of the residents of the
municipalities.

file with the city clerk a copy of an annual
report of its business affairs and transactions

use of the municipal assistance. Such report
will be open for public inspection during regular
business hours of the city clerk's office."

City of Memphis indicating that they meet certain
HOME Program requirements and therefore are
eligible for HOME funding. - Funding for designated CHDOs can be used for
acquisition, rehab or new construction of rental
housing and/or homebuyer properties and also
direct financial assistance to purchasers of
HOME assisted housing. - Funding varies annually. The City set-aside is
15 of its annual HOME entitlement for CHDO
projects and 5 of its annual HOME entitlement
for CHDO operating costs.
