Competition

• The Michigan Department of Education and MACUL
  are offering a creative technology opportunity to
  districts to improve the integration of
  technology education in the pre-K through 4th
  grades.

• Create a digital storybook that teaches young
  children technology skills.

• Be highly interactive and engaging.

• High school students author a digital
  storybook using the State Board of Education
  approved Educational Technology Standards
  Expectations (Pre-K through 4).

Awards

• Three projects will be awarded, (maximum 20,000
  each). One digital storybook focused on
• - Grades Pre-K and K
• - Grades 1 and 2
• - Grades 3 and 4

Project Requirements

• Develop a team consisting of
• Teacher leader
• Up to five high
• school students
• Community
• mentors

• Attend the MACUL Conference
• in March 2008.

Project Requirements

• Complete the digital storybook at a five day
  technology summer camp in their home district.

Funding

• Award funds may be used for
• - Materials
• - Software
• - Teacher stipends
• - Attendance at MACUL
• - Summer camp
