How do the components run in v2.4?

• Access Grid launcher runs as a single application
• The venue client runs as a Python application
• The video tool, vic, runs as a standalone Tcl
  application
• The audio tool, rat, runs as an application
  within the X11 application (which must be
  installed, of course)

Caveat for OS X

• The Mac OS X implementation was a late
  development
• Slightly flaky (works okay for me on three
  systems, but others are not so lucky!)
• There is a slight latency within the audio tool
• The tool can be slow to launch (but that may be
  general and due to the implementation of
  certificate-based security)
• Only designed to work with Apples iSight camera
  (but switch off its use in iChat!)
