16.2 WS-Coordination overview

• Coordination provides the framework for context
  information to be updated, maintained and
  circulated to activity participants.
• Consists of a Coordinator, Activation Service,
  Registration service and participants
• WS-Coordination is the Oasis standard for
  coordination in web services. Last approved
  revision 12 July 2007.

Coordinationcontext Element

• Parent element of the construct
• Contains all child elements that specify context
• Identifier element associates a unique id with
  the current activity
• Expires element sets the extent of an activities
  lifespan
• CoordinationType element
• Either WS-Business Activity or WS-AtomicTransactio
  n
• Long running and short running activities
  respectively
• URI defined in their own WS- specifications
• RegistrationService element endpoint address of
  the registration service
