Title: STEPS
1- STEPS
- Study on TEchnologys impact in Primary Schools
- EUN Steering Committee February 2008
2Our ICT Impact Report had an impact
3Key findings highlight primary school ICT success
- ICT impacts on educational performance in
primary schools, particular in English - ICT improves attainment levels of children 7-16
in the first language, in science and in design
and technology, particularly in primary schools - ICT allows for greater differentiation
(especially in primary schools), with programmes
tailored to individual pupils needs - Primary teachers consider ICT to have more impact
than secondary teachers
4Issues highlighted
- Many of the findings relate to the UK. They are
mostly in English. There are gaps in what is
known about other countries. - To what extent are results transferable or are
they contextually dependent? - In what sense can we relate outcomes to national
ICT policies?
5Recommendations
- Encourage more qualitative trans-national
research into ICT impact
6And so we have STEPS

use of ICT - Propose recommendations for policy makers and
stakeholders
