  • ESL instruction occurs IN ENGLISH using sheltered
    techniques, numerous hands-on activities, many
pictures, body movements and gestures, and realia
    to teach English vocabulary.
  • English vocabulary can be taught through thematic
    units which are content based.
  • Instruction can occur in the mainstream
classroom, or in the ESL classroom on a pull-out
    basis.

own library card. This will foster an interest in
    reading for enjoyment.
  • Encourage your child to read to you in English
and to discuss what they have read.
  • Take your child on trips to interesting places
    such as zoos and museums.
  • Arrange playdates for your children.
