• Causing global outbreak of illness among
  humans.

Novel H1N1 Influenza A

• Novel (new) virusdifferent from the annual flu.
• People do not have immunity for this virus.
• Can spread human to human mostly through coughing
  or sneezing.
• Young adults and pregnant women are at risk.

• Vaccine for the new virus will likely become
  available in fall 2009.
• People will need two different vaccines
• Seasonal flu vaccine
• Novel H1N1 vaccine (when it is available)

• Be alert to your personal symptoms.

• Stay home from work or school if you are sick.
• Stay away from people who are sick.
• Consult your local health department.
