- Project Measuring Quality of Service on Nodes.
- Start Date Dec. 2002
- End Date Oct. 2003
- Estimated Cost CHF 262,500/-
- Status Cluster setup and implementation of EDG
monitoring software, Development of repository
reading tool and metrics for load-average and
disk I/O. Probe and load program developments for
cpu bound, memory bound, I/O bound, network bound
applications. Data on probe execution time and
metrics is gathered. Finding correlation is in
progress. First prototype given in April 03
4CERN-BARC Projects (Status Report)
- Project PTS (Problem Tracking System)
- Start Date Jan. 2003
- End Date Dec. 2003
- Estimated Cost CHF 200,000/-
- Status Working first prototype was delivered in
April 2003 during Mr. Dheknes visit to CERN.
Currently Mr. Phoolchand is in CERN has
installed fully operational version at CERN. CERN
has replaced commercial software in favor of PTS
and asked Phoolchand to extend his stay to
implement additional features.
5CERN-BARC Projects (Status Report)
- Project Grid Monitoring System
- Start Date Jan. 2003
- End Date Dec. 2003
- Estimated Cost CHF 300,000/-
- Status Grid test-bed setup, Implementation,
analysis and comparison of different monitoring
tools, Implementation of prototype grid
monitoring system. Future work will be carried
out in consultation with CERN.
6CERN-BARC Projects (Status Report)
- Project High Availability Service
- Start Date July 2003
- End Date To be decided
- Estimated Cost To be decided
- Status Working prototype was discussed in April
2003 during Mr. Dheknes visit to CERN. CERN
says they can not provide exact specs. We have
tested 5 node configuration. More details have to
be worked out.
7Mechanism Set Up At BARC
- Monthly report is being sent. Regular
video-conference meetings - are held with CERN.
- Test Setup of Cluster
- 32 Nodes
- Each node is P4_at_1.5GHz with 640 MB RAM
- RedHat 7.3 with OpenAFS, Globus, OpenPBS, EDT
tools etc. - Connected using Fast Ethernet
- 2 Mbps Internet link
- Video Conference Facility
- Totally isolated network
- Number of bugs were located by BARC in EDG
software which - were fixed up and new version released by CERN
- Request from IT Division for to have meeting for
annual review of - all Indian Projects
