Nutrition

• Water - Fresh Clean. Always available.
• Complete feed ration - 12 protein, 65 - 70
  TDN(energy)
• Hay - 1 to 2 small flakes each day
• Minerals - offer a complete mineral mix free
  choice or topdress feed ration.

Amount to Feed

• Steer - 2.0 - 3.5 body weight
• Heifers - 1.0 - 2.0 body weight
• Free choice water
• Limit Hay
• Weigh your animal
• Weigh your feed
• Know your target.

Feeding Habits

• Feed twice daily
• Feed animals separately
• Feed at the same time each day
• Change feeds or rations gradually.
• Check consistency of feces.
• Evaluate fat or condition of the animal daily

Health Vaccinations

• Calfhood vaccinate heifers
• Seven-way vaccine for blackleg, malignant edema,
  overeating, lepto 5
• Respiratory Vaccine for IBR, PI3, BRSV, BVD
• Wart Vaccine
• Vaccinate on the left side. Neck for
  intramuscular and loose dewlap skin for
  subcutaneous injections.

Health Practices

• Deworm every 60 - 90 days
• Control lice
• Control ringworm and fungal infections
• Control flies
• Periodic doses of vitamins and Probios
• Probios before show

Daily Care

• Halter and exercise calf
• Use showstick
• Rinse calf and blow or brush dry
• Wash with soap weekly
• Vinegar rinse occasionally

• Feed and Water
• Check general health
• Monitor growth and maturity
• Clean stall and feed and water pans
• Work at it !!!!
