• Often are only in one place and not
  transportable
• When they are not at hand you need an image to
  refresh your memory
• Can be complex in which case an image can help
  structuralizing and clarifying
• Are much less flexible in the choice of the
  amount of detail displayed (once made it is
  impossible to make changes)

• Reader is trained to read tactile images
• The image is fun and not a source of frustration
• Of course the subject and complexity match the
  development of the student
• Images are well made

• If not, in daily life, even well made tactile
  images are not used
• It is better to have a less perfect image with a
  good explanation than the other way around
