  • Members of the practice plan (HSF)

    clinical/administrative/teaching activities
  • Eligible to participate in the clinical faculty
    incentive plan

B BASIC SCIENCE FACULTY

  • Not eligible for the clinical faculty incentive
    plan
  • Eligible for the Dept. Basic Science incentive
    plan only if tenured or tenure eligible

  • To stimulate faculty to produce income that can
    support faculty salaries
  • Based on fiscal year July 1 June 30

  • Contingent on the availability of clinical
    reserve funds
  • Must be approved by the SOM Dean

  • Contingent on the availability of Dept. UVA
    reserve funds
  • Must be approved by the SOM Dean

  • Part B - Based on intangible measures with
    considerations for outstanding achievements in
    clinical, teaching, research or administration

  • Percentage of total salary expected from each
    faculty
  • Determined by the Chair on an annual basis for
    each faculty
  • Factors taken into consideration are level of
    clinical/teaching/administrative
    responsibilities, space, and start-up funds
