• AGREED MINIMUM DURATION SPECIFIED BY EUROPEAN
  LEGISLATION. MINIMUM 3 YEARS POSSIBLE MAXIMUM 5
  YEARS, DEPENDENT ON NATIONAL REQUIREMENTS BUT
  PARTICULARLY EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF INDIVDUAL
  DOCTOR.
• INCLUDE PERIODS OF SKILL ACQUISITION IN
  SECONDARY AND COMMUNITY CARE, CENTRED ON THE
  NEEDS OF THE INDIVDUAL GP REGISTRAR.
• REGULAR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS.

• Factual medical knowledge which is sufficient to
  enable the practitioner to perform the duties of
  a general practitioner
• The ability to apply factual medical knowledge to
  the management of problems presented by patients
  in general practice
• Effective communication both orally and in
  writing
• The ability to consult satisfactorily with
  general practice patients
