• Two issues still outstanding
• First issue discussed on the sctp-impl list.
  Basically the wording of the PPID field needs
  further clarification as to the byte order of the
  field.
• An implementation note regarding Karn's algorithm
  and RTT measurements was inadvertently left out
  (a snafu as to who was doing what update -D)

• After the previous two issues are addressed and a
  new version is released we feel we are ready for
  WG last call.
• After the document winds its way to informational
  RFC the document should be used as the base for
  the RFC2960BIS

RFC2960BIS Ground Rules

• To maintain sanity and not open up a field day
  of changes to RFC2960 here are my proposed ground
  rules for the BIS that I would like to have
  adopted by the AD's
• ONLY changes that are addressed in the I-G will
  be applied to RFC2960.
• NO new issues can be added to the the BIS
• Only textual errors in either the translation of
  the I-G into the BIS ltORgt incomplete resolutions
  to the I-G noted problems aka the wording is NOT
  sufficient to address the problem.

RFC2960BIS results

• The end result of the RFC2960BIS will be to
  obsolete
• RFC2960 ltandgt RFC3309
• The document will remain at proposed standard
  with the goal to move it forward to proposed
  sometime after the next two interop's.
• The next interop is tentatively scheduled for
  Sept 2005 (but should NOT take place until the
  I-G is in the RFC editors queue).
