NZAID receives activity concept submission from
NZ State Sector organisation and assesses against
criteria (see Activity Identification and
Application Process Map)
NZAID assesses and declines
NZAID assesses and invites full proposal
Proposal and associated documents provided to
NZAID Assessor and MFAT Policy Officer
NZAID receives ? full proposal ? letter from Aid
Coordination Authority ? letter from Senior
Management of Counterpart agency
MFAT Policy Officer ?assesses alignment with
broader relationship priorities
NZAID Assessor ? consults with programme teams
in Wellington and Post ? assesses against
criteria (see annex 1)

Consultation with NZAID

    concepts/proposals in theory
  • No feedback on draft concept notes
  • Consultation with NZAID encouraged for stream 2
    applications (longer-term programme funding)

Timeline DPF Round 8
  • Tuesday 22nd September DPF Workshop
  • Friday 2nd October concept notes due
  • Friday 16th October assessment of concept notes
    complete, notification to successful applicants
  • Friday 30th October full proposals due
  • Wednesday 2nd December applicants notified of
    outcome of NZAID/MFAT assessments

Timeline DPF Round 8 Continued
  • Tuesday 15th December (tentative) IDWG Meeting
  • Friday 18th December (tentative) notification
    from IDWG Meeting
  • Wednesday 23rd December (tentative) submission
    sent to Minister of Foreign Affairs
  • February/March (tentative) decisions received
    from Minister of Foreign Affairs and contracts
    set up for successful proposals

Important points to note
  • Generally around 3 months to run full funding
    round Round 8 longer due to christmas period
  • Be realistic about start date
  • No activity can begin until Memorandum of
    Understanding (MOU)/contract is in place no
    retrospective funding
  • No advance funding (on reimbursement of invoice)
