Title: NERVES REFLEX BEHAVIOR

1
NERVESREFLEX BEHAVIOR
  • CROSS EXTENSOR
  • WITHDRAWAL REFLEX
  • KNEE-JERK REFLEX

2
CROSSED EXTENSOR
  • When a muscle flexes, and the extensors are
    inhibited

3
WITHDRAWAL REFLEX
  • When someone unexpectedly touches something hot

4
KNEE-JERK REFLEX
  • Simple reflex with one sensory neuron
communicating directly with a motor neuron

5
NERVE PATHWAYS
  • REFLEX ARCS

6
  • The nerve impulse travels through the nervous
    system on nerve pathways
  • It begins with a receptor at the end of the
    sensory nerve fiber
  • The fiber leads to several interneurons within
the central nervous system which leads to a
processing center called the reflex center.

7
  • They then connect with various other interneurons
in other parts of the nervous system which
communicate with motor neurons whose fibers pass
outward from the central nervous system to
effectors ( muscle or glands that responds to
    stimulation)
