Form Factor

• Compared to laptops, handheld devices are tiny.
  Yet, running typically on two AA-sized batteries,
  the higher end models, such as the HP OmniGo
  700LX and Sharp Zaurus 5800, have a level of
  sophistication that believe their size.
• The eye-straining LCD displays - usually no more
  than six by three inches - which are now becoming
  more
• cluttered with application icons and
  graphics-based software.
• Yet, keeping these devices small is crucial
  because while there is always a conscious
  decision to lug along a laptop, a palmtop can be
  carried everywhere.

Electronic Notepads
PDA notepads (which do not operate on WindowsÒ CE
are generally simpler and cheaper than those
which do. They are used with limited, set
functions (personal schedule, phone/address book,
notetaking). These are also the type of device
used for specific functions such as stock taking.
