"Don't eat too many milk duds!" Mom remarked to
Ashleigh as she walked through the family room.
"And remember to take care of the garbage." Mom
was doing errands around the whole house.
Ashleigh was in the middle of her favorite
program, and with the TV and her little brother
nearby being noisy, it was easy to ignore her
mom. She just kept watching her show and munching
on Milk Duds.

Duds? Your body needs good food to nourish it.
Sweets should just be a small treat now and
then." As they talked, Ashleigh realized that if
she'd stopped eating sweets and done her chores,
she might be feeling better now. "I'm sorry
Mom. I should have listened!" "Well, sweetie,
that's true. Here's some medicine to help you
regain your strength. I love you." Ashleigh
settled back on her bed and thought, "Yes, she
really does."
