Title: It Could Still Be Water
1It Could Still Be Water
2Water! When youre thirsty, you drink it.
3When youre dirty, you wash with it.
4When you want to have fun on a hot day, you swim
in it
5 or sail on it in a boat. You do so many things
with water. In fact, you couldnt live without
water.
6People, other animals, and plants all must have
water to live.
7Most of the world is covered by water.
8If you look at a globe, you will see that the
Earth has much more water than land.
9Even your own body is mostly water!
10Water is a liquid. Its wet and you can pour it.
11But water isnt always a liquid.
12Water could freeze until it becomes solid and
still be water.
13An ice cube is a piece of frozen water.
14Water could rise into the air as tiny droplets
called vapor and still be water. Water vapor is
invisible. You cant see it. But if water vapor
cools just enough, sometimes you can see it.
15It could be the steam coming out of a kettle
16 or the vapor in your breath turning to mist on
a very cold day and still be water.
17It could be thick fog you cant see through
18or the clouds in the sky and still be water.
19As the water droplets in clouds cool, they get
bigger and bigger.
20When they are cool enough, they fall to the
ground as rain
21 or freeze into snow.
22So whether its a funny snowman
23or a fluffy cloud or a fishs home it could
still be water!
