  • Increase in use of new Samaritan Shelter clients
  • Broad increases in the use of MACC Human Needs
    such as soup kitchen and pantry may be indicators
    of a weak economy over the past few years

Recommendations
  • Use of the new Connecticut HMIS Data System for
    on-going data and agency collaboration
  • Town support of initiatives to end homelessness
    such as Reaching Home
  • Improved citizen understanding of reasons for
    homelessness and successful reduction strategies
  • The Town can work with local non-profit
    providers, other Towns, and the State to find
    solutions
