What is the Mugrabim Ramp today?

• It is a temporary wooden bridge built following
  the collapse of the old Mugrabim Ramp, due to
  natural disasters.

What is the purpose of the works?

• The Israel Antiquities Authority has begun
  salvage excavations in order to erect supporting
  pillars for a permanent Mugrabim Ramp, to be
  built for the safety of the visitors.

Where is it located?

• The Mugrabim Ramp is adjacent to the Western Wall
  in Jerusalem, and has served as an entranceway
  for tourists to visit the Temple Mount.
• The new bridge and the Mugrabim Ramp are located
  outside of the Temple Mount complex and are not
  part of it.

Facts

• The construction of the new bridge is being
  conducted in the most professional way abiding
  with all archaeological parameters in order to
  prevent any damage from happening to the sites
  and the antiquities that could be found.
• All works are carried out under the
  responsibility of the Jerusalem Municipality and
  the Government of Israel, which has always been
  extremely attentive and sensitive to all sacred
  sites under its jurisdiction.
• 97 of the people who use the ramp are non-Jewish
  tourists and their safety is of great importance
  to the Israeli authorities.
