Jawad Saleem

• Born in Ankara (Turkey), 1920.
• Studied Sculpture in Paris, (1938-1939), Rome
  (1939-1940) and London (1946-1949).
• Was the Head of the (  Sculpture dept.) in the
  institute of fine Arts, Baghdad until his death.
• Founded the Group of Baghdad for modern Art, also
  founder of new Baghdad School of Modern Art.
• His Monument Liberty, located in one of the
  most prominent squares in Baghdad, is the most
  important monument in the Mid-East.
• A founding member of the Iraqi Artist society.
