• Single unified facility includes functions of
  receiving data from field stations, processing
  data, rapidly releasing data via the web site,
  and archiving data

• Goal Provide timely, quality-controlled, and
  easily accessible data for domestic and foreign
  earthquakes of engineering interest

NCESMD a cooperative center

• Established by the USGS and CGS to integrate
  strong ground motion record access

• Built on the Engineering Data Center of the
  California Integrated Seismic Network (CISN)

• Will continue to serve the California region
  while expanding to serve the other ANSS regions
  of USGS

• Web site is dynamic - all web pages are generated
  on-the-fly, upon user need/request

• Data and information are retrieved from a
  database in real time when users open web pages

• NCESMD A unified strong-motion data center for
  engineering applications

• A Center Management Group manages the NCESMD with
  input from an external Advisory Committee

• Products will be generated by both CGS and USGS
  facilities.
