stepped into the new stage
  • The central task of agricultural and rural
    economic work has become Comprehensively improve
    agricultural produce quality and safety levels.

    it as a key means to push agricultural structural
    adjustment, increase peasants income levels, and
    improve market competitiveness of agricultural
    produce

To adapt to the new stage of agricultural
development, speed up improvement of
agricultural produce quality and safety levels,
and market competitiveness
  • April 2001
  • With the approval of the State Council, the
    Ministry Of Agriculture started the
    Environmentally Friendly Food Action Plan, and
    implemented successful tests in Beijing, Tianjin,
    Shanghai and Shenzhen
  • July 2002
  • After the meeting of the national vegetable
    basket project, the Environmentally Friendly
    Food Action Plan was comprehensively implemented
    nationwide

    standardisation technology commissions
  • Established an agricultural produce quality
    standardisation system that is adapted to Chinas
    real situation and also to the international
    standards.

  • The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture planned and
    built 268 ministry level agricultural produce
    quality inspection centres
  • 179 quality inspection centres gained
    authorisation from the Ministry of Agriculture
    and gained the National Quality Certificate.
