How Polluted Is Our Water?

• Clear Creek
• Small amount of algal
• Pecan Creek
• Small amount of algal
• Water from end of Waste Water Treatment Plant
• Entire tile covered in algal

Activity

• Teacher brings in water samples from three
  different water samples
• Water from water fountain
• Water from teachers home
• Water from nearby lake or river
• Children separated into groups
• Each group would put a small tile in each water
  sample
• Observe twice a week for six weeks to document
  the algal growth
• At the end of the six weeks the children would
  make a graph and present and compare their
  results to the rest of the class
• Essential Question How do we affect the circle
  of life?
