Tasks for Division Members(to be initiated 12
mos prior to event)
  • Poll the 127 young engineers in the division
    431 students about their interests
  • Send personalized letters to companies extolling
    the benefits of having employees who are
    ASME-Widget-Division member
  • Hit up the local companies to sponsor the
    reception / social event and poster session
  • Coordinate with the Senior Section to sign up
    companies for job fair

Senior Section Tasks
  • Coordinate with local companies for sponsorship
    of reception and poster session
  • Have the liaisons to the 3 student sections
    advertise the poster sessions and recruit student
    volunteers to help with the various sessions,
    competitions, and prof. dev. courses.
  • Work with companies and the division to create a
    viable job fair include the student sections
    (conference fee waived for participating
    students)
  • Follow up with all participants (students, senior
    section, companies, )

Outcomes
  • An exciting event
  • Gets local students involved in ASME
  • Pulls young engineers into the Widget division
  • Provides companies with excellent new employees
  • All of this for 0!! (but lots of sweat Note
    the executive committee of the Widget division
    will not be held liable for eventual losses due
    to poor budgeting)
