- Youll need
- A Student Employment Approval Form (SEAF)
- contact the Career Center for this form
- A Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification
- http//www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9.pdf
- be sure to make copies of the documents you
verify! - An IRS Form W-4
- http//www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf
3Ive Completed the Forms Now What?
- All forms must be submitted to the Student
Employment Office in the Career Center. The
Career Center is located on the 2nd Floor of the
Lightsey Building right next to the Registrar!
4Great! Can my new student assistant start TODAY?
5All Departments Must Receive Authorization Prior
to a Student Beginning Work On Campus
6Employment Authorization is Received in One of
Two Ways
- The prospective student employee or departmental
representative brings all student employment
paperwork to the Career Center - The student receives immediate written work
authorization
- Student employment paperwork is sent to or
dropped off at the Career Center - Electronic notification of work authorization is
sent to the departmental contact within 1-3
business days
Work authorization is contingent upon all
student employment paperwork being accurate and
complete
7Then What Happens?
- The students information is entered into the
Human Resources System and sent to Budgeting and
Payroll Services for timesheet generation. - Students may receive a paper timesheet for
their first pay period after that, their
timesheets will be available through the Employee
section of Cougar Trail.

Budgeting and Payroll Services Website
