Title: A database for management of engineering labs
1A database for management of engineering labs
Present By Wendy Yung Ka Po Supervisor Dr
Dong, Zhao Yang
Introduction A well-organized lab management
database system (LDMS) will provide an organized
way of keeping, reviewing and analyzing lab
management data. It will also act as a
communication path between its user and
management staff to exchange information. By
having such a system, the overall effectiveness
of the facility can be improve.
- Lecturer can use the system
- to
- Â
- Inform laboratory coriander on the equipments
and components that are needed for practical
section. - Distribute practical sections information (Lab
sheet) and results to students.
Database Design The most fundamental part of
the system is the database. The type of database
used in the system is relational database. The
result relationship database structure is shown
as below(relationships are represent by the links
between those tables)
- Laboratory coordinator can
- use the system to
- Store laboratory equipments and components
data. - Check stock of components and purchase components
for laboratory. - Obtain list of equipments and components that are
needed for practical section. - Contact subjects lecturer, other laboratory
corianders and student.
- Student can use the system
- to
- Â
- Obtain practical section detail (practical sheet
and time table). - Check results of practical sections.
- Contact lecturer for matter related to practical
section. - Find user manual for equipment and data sheet for
component.
Functionality All functions within the system
make use of the stored data in the database to
perform.
