THE CHALLENGE OF YOUTH EMPLOYMENT
  • To generate productive and remunerative work
    opportunities for young people (ages 15-29) to
    address and solve the above-mentioned problems
    and
  • To reduce unemployment and its harmful results,
    e.g. youth leaving the rural areas, population
    concentration in the cities, deteriorating
    standards of living, social tensions among youth,
    drug addiction, crime and other handicaps to
    youth development

YES Country Network Georgia
  • On May 30, 2002 at Office of Association for
    Farmers Rights Defense, AFRD it was held the
    meeting of Georgian Non-Governmental
    Organizations 30 NGOs participated in the
    meeting. The participant NGOs considered the
    issue of broadening the Youth Employment Network
    in Georgia. It was considered the problems of
    Youth Employment and the interests of young
    people.

    organizations and more than 100 youth
  • In our workshops and seminars participated
    150-185 youth
  • In Ganja (Azerbaijan) organized joint seminar on
    Employment aspects with Azerbaijan partners,
    where participated 68 participants from
    Government, NGO and Refugees
  • The next step of our activities will be to
    prepare special MEMORANDUM of co-operation and
    will sign Azerbaijan and Georgian - policy
    makers, head of departments, NGOs and Refugees,
    this meeting will be in Kobuleti (Georgia, Bleak
    Sea), end of October

Proposed Action In The Caucasus Region For The
Decade Campaign 2002-2012
  • Establishment of
  • A YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT (YES ) HOUSE
  • For promoting youth employment and development in
    the Caucasus region.
  • It is proposed to locate the YES House in
    Tbilisi,
  • Georgia. Its tasks would be to initiate and
    manage
  • cooperative activities in the four countries of
    the
  • Caucasus region as a contribution to the aims and
  • activities of the YES Decade Campaign 2002-2012

ACTIVITIES OF THE YES HOUSE
  • Training of trainers,
  • Putting together and training of youth self-help
    groups
  • Lobbing with governmental and non-governmental
    organizations
  • Organizing seminars for youth and workshops
  • Coordinating the work of volunteers who will turn
    existing village into eco-village, thereby
    establishing showcase and good practices for
    imitation
