General Guidelines
  • In the tzvira model, the grades for the oral
    Bagrut exam are reported separately. There is a
    separate code number (??? ?????) for the
    three-point oral Bagrut exam (016111) and for the
    four- and five-point oral Bagrut exam (016112)
  • Since the Ministry of Education requires that any
    test that has a code number be given a school
    grade (???? ??? ????), teachers are now required
    to give a school grade for the oral component.

  • The following are guidelines regarding procedures
    for the oral Bagrut exam. Please note that it is
    the tester's responsibility to read the
    information carefully and follow the
    instructions.
  • For the four- and five-point oral Bagrut exam,
    the testers are teachers from other schools who
    are appointed by the Testing Department, based on
    recommendations of the district English
    Inspectors.
  • For the three-point oral Bagrut exam, the testers
    are the English teachers of the pupils, who are
    appointed by the Testing Department, based on
    recommendations of the district English
    Inspectors.

Grading
  •  
  • Each tester must have a copy of the grading
    scales in front of him/her during the exam.
  • ALL columns in form ?' 13 must be filled in.
  • The oral test for all levels consists of two
    parts
  • an interview
  • a project presentation and
    interaction
  • One final grade for all levels, out of 100
    points, is given. This grade is worth 20 of the
    final Bagrut grade.

Recording the Grades
  •  
  • Prior to the day of the oral exam, your school is
    responsible for filling in the pupils names and
    their I.D. numbers on form? '13 and putting the
    pupils stickers on the 9540 form.
  • Each tester will receive form ?'13 (which has
    already been filled in by the school).
  • The tester must sign each form ?' 13 s/he has
    filled in.
  • Photocopies of form ?'13 are to be sent to the
    English Inspector of the school, signed and
    stamped by the principal, no later than one week
    after the oral Bagrut exam. The original copies
    must be kept at school.
  • The final grades are transferred to form 9540,
    which is signed by the tester on condition that
    the Magen Grade has been filled in
  • This form is then sent to the Testing Department
    in the Ministry of Education in Jerusalem before
    the date of the written exam.

  • ask for a question to be repeated if you didnt

    funny, smile!!
  • lead the interview in direction you want it to go
  • dress nicely / comb your hair / brush your teeth
  • prepare a 3-minute project presentation
  • if you make a mistake, correct yourself
  • use rich vocabulary and complicated sentence
    structures

10 Donts
  • speak in Hebrew AT ANY TIME!!
  • chew gum
  • ask How did I do? or How much did I get?
  • eat the bageleh of the testers, or the cakes,
    etc....
  • be late!
  • just answer yes or no in the interview. Use your
    imagination
  • make a noise outside the test rooms - its very
    disturbing
  • smoke just before your turn - the smell can
    affect your grade!!
  • freeze - if your English deserts you, ask for
    time to think
  • let the tester ask a lot of questions
