  • Almost 40 of employers have either recruited or
    would recruit international students for work
    experience or placements.
  • Almost 10 of employers would only consider UK
    and EEA nationals for work experience
    opportunities.
  • Only 20 of all work experience opportunities are
    advertised!!!

Take the Initiative!
  • Employers (78) willing to take IS on work
    placements said that they do not advertise their
    work experience opportunities externally
  • When surveyed, many employers from this group
    said that they had never seen an application from
    an international student

Case Study Making a difference
  • Santashree Mitra, MSc in Clinical Criminology at
    Leicester, Applied Psychology from the University
    of Delhi
  • I did not do anything out of the ordinaryI was
    proactive. I sent my (speculative) application
    from India and added extra information about the
    amount and type of work I could do in the UK. I
    was their first ever non British employee in
    Leicester!
