PTA Membership What an awesome start to the new
school year at Sharon! We obtained 100

Eagle Owl Visionary Pin, The Flamingo
Pacesetters Certificate, The Argus Pheasant
Early Bird Certificate, and The African Lion

Bouhan/Membership Chairperson and Mala Taylor/VP

achievement. If you havent joined the PTA yet,
you can do so by logging on to the school
website, download a membership form, and send it

Education Election Being educated about and
voting for candidates for public office is
critical to advocating effectively for children.
Through informed decision making at the ballot
box, PTA members can make a direct difference on
the issues that affect our children and public
schools. When PTA votes, we become a powerful
voice for all children. Soremember to vote on
Nov. 4.
Reflections Wow Wow is right! We have
received over 200 wonderful pieces of art, video,
photography, etc., from your children to be
entered into this years Reflections contest.
Reflections is a national PTA sponsored event.
Plan on attending Gallery Night at Sharon on
Thursday, October 9th at 630. Winners will be
announced at that time. The winners from our
school will go on to the county level. Good luck
to all of our participants! Thanks to Lynn
Taylor and Teresa Bush for their hard work in
organizing and preparing for this event

2Give Back Flat Donation Fundraiser We are
having our very first Give Back Flat Donation
Fundraiser the week of October 13th-17th. In
order to meet our bottom-line budget and also
provide educational enrichment and facilities
improvements, we are asking for a donation of
65.00 per student. 100 of this goes to the
school as opposed to previous years fundraisers
where percentages were paid to fundraising
companies. A letter detailing state cut backs
and our budget needs was sent in your childs
Friday folders on Sept. 26th. Please check out
the school website under the Give Back link for
additional information involving the activities
scheduled that week involving your children.
Many thanks to April Braddock/Fundraising Chair,
Karen Sensenbrenner/VP Ways Means I.
A Note From The President Leigh Jones We all
know these are very difficult economic times
right now. I sincerely hope you will all support
our Flat Donation Fundraiser. Our first priority
is to give back to educational enrichment
programs. Leslie Cushman, Georgia PTA President
couldnt have said it any better in the
September/October Georgia PTA newsletter,
Quality in education is the only assurance our
children will be successful and productive.
Investing in early education, after-school
programs, schools of education, continuing
professional development, parental involvement
this is what will ensure our childrens future.
We as the customer have every right to expect the
best, and the best doesnt always come cheap.
