2Purpose
Triamcinolone and Bevacizumab were
intravitreally administered to patients with
posterior Uveites and those with
diabetic/BRVO-associated macular edema,
respectively and efficacy of the drug injection
during cataract surgery was evaluated. So the
result will be reported.
3Material / Methods
Pars plana injection of drugs were made into the
vitreous cavity following 2mm incision,
phacoemulsification and cataract extration.

Diabetic macular edema 14eyes/11patients
Diabetic macular edema, mean visual acuity before
surgery was 20/400, but one day after surgery it
improved to 20/80, 7days after 20/50 and 30days
after 20/40.

Diabetic macular edema 14eyes/11patients
Diabatic macular edema, the mean macular
thickness, before surgery was 391µm but after
1day of surgery it decreased to 299µm, 7days
249µm, and 30days 223m.
12Conclusion
It was concluded that pars plana injection of
the drug during cataract extraction by
phacoemulsification was effective for the
improvement of postoperative visual acuity of
patients with prolonged uveites and with
diabetic/BRVO-associated macular edema.
