    and southern Africa resulting in the Malé
    Declaration and draft Maputo Declaration

    fed into the policy cycle via
  • Ministerial level meetings
  • National and regional multi-stakeholder dialogues
    including NGOs
  • Meetings of network members in the regions which
    include government representatives
  • Dissemination of relevant information

Future Development of RAPIDC
  • Sida wish to continue funding RAPIDC, at least
    for 3 more years
  • SEI have sent in a tender for a planning phase
    of 3 months in
  • 2004 which has been accepted
  • The planning phase will develop a plan based on
    the needs in Asia
  • and Africa (especially South Asia and southern
    Africa) linked with
  • expertise available for capacity building
  • The next phase will transfer ownership of RAPIDC
    to partners
  • representing the core focus regions and
    scientists involved in networks
