Observations

• Aula Info 4 is a strange shape.
• There is room for at most 28 workstations.
• We need to have a control room containing the
  server and desks.
• It seems to be the case that screens between the
  subjects can not descend from the ceiling but
  must be integral to the units.

Outline of Plan

• There will be a Control Room.
• There will be five banks of units (workstations)
  3 on one side and 2 on the other. Each bank
  will be curved.
• There will be two big screens, one at each side,
  and two ceiling-mounted projectors.
• The decoration of the lab needs to be discussed.

Control Room

• There will be a control room on the right when
  entering.
• It will contain shelving and desking and the
  server for the network.
• It should have a wall the bottom part of which
  is wood and the top half one-way glass.
• I do not think it can have a door.

Individual Units

• For each subject we need an individual unit
  consisting of a desk and screening.
• The desk shape is important.
• The CPU is to be stored under the desk.
• The computer (flat-) screen should fold away into
  the surface of the desk when not in use.
• The screens are crucial.

Screens in the units

• Each unit needs two screens one in front of the
  subject and the other on the long side of the
  desk.
• The screens should be light (in weight),
  translucent and of an agreeable colour.
• The should slide up and down and should be 75 cm
  in height almost invisible when down and
  screening the subject when up.

What is needed

• 32 (we only have room for 28 but we will need the
  others later) individually built units we need
  a carpenter. 32 chairs?
• New screens for the workstations (preferably with
  built-in video camera).
• A server, two projectors and two screens.
• Software (and wiring) for the local network.
• Wall and furnishing for the Control Room desks,
  shelves and chairs.
• Painting and decorating.
