What is an Associate Member?
  • An associate member of CNA is
  • any group constituted in Canada which has a
    majority of regulated nursing personnel and whose
    application for membership has been approved by
    the Board of Directors.

Terms of Reference for an Associate Member
  • a) The majority of regular membership in the
    associate member consists of registered nurses
    who meet the group's membership criteria and
    there are members in at least four
    provinces/territories.
  • b) More than fifty percent of registered nurses
    of the group are CNA members.

Terms of Reference for an Associate Member
  • c) The Constitution and Bylaws have been adopted
    by members of the group and the objects are
    compatible with CNA's corporate objects.
  • d) The group's constitution and bylaws have
    provision for the election of officers and
    independent policy-making power.
  • An associate member shall assume such obligations
    and be accorded such privileges as may, from time
    to time, be established by the Board of Directors
    of CNA.
