• Rejoice - the Greek chairo to be glad
  (exceedingly so), to be well, to thrive.
• Paul uses the word 8 times in the Philippian
  letter, and he was in prison!
• To rejoice is not an option, it is a command! It
  is our duty, as well as in our own best interest,
  to have a rejoicing attitude!

A Perpetual Command

• Rejoice in the Lord always..! Not a mood that
  comes and goes, but it should be continuous.
• Easy when things are going well, but in tough
  times we should also rejoice! Phil. 112-20,
  Matt. 511-12
• In trials as well as triumphs we must rejoice!

An Emphasized Command

• again I will say, rejoice!
• The importance of the command. When our hearts
  are filled with rejoicing, its hard for other
  things to fill it. (Eph.518)
• That Christians might be slow in heeding the
  command. We must practice it so it becomes
  second nature in our lives. (Phil.44-9)

• It will strengthen, enhance, and radiate our
  health (spiritual physical) and our influence -

• When we rejoice we are being obedient, it
  benefits us, and ultimately it pleases the Lord!
